Elettroencefalografia (EEG of the brain) is an examination of the brain, in which its electrical potentials are recorded.
ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY (EEG OF THE BRAIN):
Who is recommended to go through this examination?
This diagnostic method can detect such diseases as:
- epilepsy
- aneurysms of cerebral vessels
- brain tumors
- hematomas and other pathologies of the brain
WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
The main indication for electroencephalography examination is the diagnostics of the epilepsy. Different forms of this disease are characterized by different variants of changes in the bioelectrical activity of the brain. Correct interpretation of changes of the electroencephalogram allows timely and adequately to perform therapy or, conversely, to refuse getting anticonvulsant treatment.
Electroencephalography helps to evaluate the results of the treatment course.

Electroencephalography (EEG). Pediatrics

Electroencephalography (EEG of the brain) is a record of the total bioelectric activity of brain nerve cells, which is subordinate to certain rhythms and changes with the presence of a particular neurologic pathology.
EEG of the brain also reflects the degree of maturation of the brain and its structures.
Who is recommended to go through this examination?
- children with autism; delay of mental and speech development; alalia, dysarthria; stuttering; dyslexia and dysgraphia
- children with cerebral palsy and other motor impairments
- children with tics; headaches; sleep disturbance; fainting
- babies born in difficult labors
- children with epilepsy or increased seizure threshold of the brain (including the presence of an episode of febrile seizures)
WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
Children with speech disorders sometimes have a tendency to convulsive conditions, which should be revealed by means of electroencephalography.
Children with speech problems need to determine the degree of maturation of the brain for the purpose of correct therapy.
Electroencephalographic examination helps to evaluate the results of the treatment course and to monitor the dynamics of the development of the brain.
HOW THE ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY (EEG) IS PERFORMED?
The patient wears a special helmet made of strips with elastic bands, under which electrodes are placed. During the recording of the electroencephalogram, a breathing test and a flashing light test are performed.
The examination takes 10-15 minutes.
Electroencephalographic examination is painless and safe.
